Dangerous Teachings In Church

Part 1: The Importance of Biblical Discernment
The Law of Attraction is a belief system that draws upon Hinduism and Buddhism, promoting monism, which negates the existence of a personal God and asserts that everything in the universe is God. This belief system has misled many respected teachers and preachers, leading their followers away from the truth, and churches must exercise discernment to avoid compromising the Gospel and focus on seeking God’s will rather than self-centeredness.

Deception In the Church

The Law of Attraction, also known as New Thought which draws upon the teachings of Hinduism and Buddhism, which promote the belief system of monism. Not to be confused with monotheism which is that there is only one God, and that He is personal and separate from His creation. Monism negates the existence of a personal God and asserts that everything in the universe, including nature, thoughts, consciousness, and even people, are all God, as defined in pantheism. Pantheistic-monism identifies the concept of god with the universe and all that is in it. It is handily summarized by the line: “All is One, One is All, All is God. While this belief system has gained popularity through the New Age movement, it has unfortunately misled many respected teachers and preachers to promote these teachings embedded in their books and on the pulpit leading their congregation away from the Truth.

Satan often employs tactics like this to deceive people by presenting a small amount of truth mixed with untruths, just as he deceived Adam and Eve. The Bible warns us of churches falling into a state of apostasy, and these teachings align with some of Satan’s schemes. They focus on the self-centeredness of one’s mind rather than seeking God’s will, preventing us from rendering all glory, power, and dependency to God.

Scriptures inform us that the hardships of life “test our faith producing endurance, endurance completing its work so that we may be fully mature, complete, and lacking in nothing.” James 1:2-4; Philippians 4:11-12

Contrary to what some preachers may teach, Jesus and the apostles instruct us to trust in God, not ourselves, for all things. Failure to abandon these certain teachings and churches not only endangers the body of Christ but also leads to a poor understanding of God’s attributes and power. This false view of how God works, who He is, and a poor foundation can leave Christians ill-equipped to stand firm during their trials.

It is crucial to recognize and reject these teachings that have crept into our local churches and compromised the Gospel. We must exercise biblical discernment and hold fast to the truth, seeking comfort and strength in God, not ourselves.
